On December 3rd, join with Franciscans and Franciscan-hearted people in a solidarity fast.
The fast is a response to our broken immigration system that, all too often, instills fear, excludes, and tears apart immigrant families. The fast is both a prayer and a collective, moral call summoning our elected officials to do what is right and just vis-à-vis our immigrant brothers and sisters.
The Franciscan action on December 3 is part of the larger initiative, Fast4Families, that was launched on November 12 on the National Mall, steps away from the Capitol by various faith, immigrant rights and labor leaders. Since then, a group of people has been fasting every day and night, abstaining from all food—except water—to move the hearts of members of Congress and pass the comprehensive immigration reform.
Join with us in solidarity, from your home to pray and fast with other Franciscan-hearted people. Please, watch the Franciscan Family Fast video above, “like it,” and help us to spread the word about it. Post it on your Facebook page with a status “Hi, join me and Franciscan Action Network for a day of #Fast4Families on Dec. 3 to support comprehensive immigration reform.”
