Celebrate Christmas on Arch Street

Songs and Stories of Expectation and Celebration

a contemporary concert of lessons and carols

with The Arch Street Band and Franciscan Friars of St. Anthony Shrine

Snowflake Line DrawingThe concert is a contemporary take on the traditional form of Lessons and Carols.  It incorporates the promise of Christ’s coming, as told by the Old Testament prophets, into the Christmas story we know so well from the Gospels.  The music is a rich mix of traditional carols (like “Once in Royal David’s City”), sacred classical music (like “Comfort Ye,” from Handel’s Messiah) and contemporary Christian songs (like DownHere’s “How Many Kings?”)
