“I have never been more at home or more comfortable with a group of strangers who, thanks to the Holy Spirit, are no longer strangers and who provided me with real love, compassion, and understanding.” Words from one of the 29 grieving parents who participated in a Spirit-filled weekend retreat November 7-9 in Duxbury, MA offered by the Shrine’s Emmaus Ministry for Grieving Parents.
Joined by Fr. Tom Conway, OFM, Bro. John Maganzini, OFM and a retreat team of Emmaus Parent Companions and contributors, the parents focused on their spiritual journeys using prayer services, spiritual reflections, breakout sessions, an Emmaus Walk, a Mass, reconciliation, and spiritual direction.
