The St. Bonaventure “Bonnies” travel to play at The Siena Saints tonight for the Franciscan Cup.  This annual tradition is a NCAA D-1 non-conference men’s basketball game which allows the winner of the game to retain the Franciscan Cup until the following year’s game.  Before the Franciscan Cup was started the teams played fairly regularly with the first ever meeting occurring during the 1939-1940 season with the Bonnies earning a 51-47 point victory.

In attendance tonight will be a number of Friars from across to region including our very own Fr. Tom Conway, OFM (Siena Alum), Fr. Brian Cullinane, OFM (St Bonaventure Alum) and Fr. Dan Horan, OFM (St. Bonaventure Alum).

If you would like to follow the game it is being played online via ESPN3. It will be a great game since the Bonnies have a 7-2 record and the Saints have a 7-4 record entering tonights contest.

Good luck to both teams!
