This week was packed with many things to do!  Here at the Shrine, a day we love to celebrate is #GivingTuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving November 29th, 2016.  Being the social media intern, I spent most of my day attending their webinar and learning more about this day of giving.  I realized that the Shrine isn’t like most places, we are extremely special and have a particular audience that we cater to.  One of the best things about the Shrine is that we are like no other church.  We bring in many different people and that is very evident through our day to day business.  In terms of social media outreach there was a lot of promoting to do for the Arch Street band playing at Fenway and also for our dear Fr. Eric Carpine who will be leaving us and heading to St. Petersburg, FL.  Wednesday was a very special day because it was a Bread on the Common ministry day.  Bread on the common is one of my favorite ministries simply because it opens your eyes and makes you not only aware of the all different walks of life around you including the homeless, but really shows what it means to live through St. Francis and to not only give them food but to listen to what they have to say.  Our efforts in staying up with technology were put to the test when St. Anthony Shrine was a Pokestop for the app called Pokemogo.  It brought in some people that had never been into the Shrine and it was interesting to see!  the picture below is of St. Anthony Shrine women’s spiritual group!28255317486_9165bf47fb_o
