IMG_3060Br. Fandry was born in the Dominican Republic. In 2004 he was 19 and joined the mission. He is a member of the Franciscan Custody of the Caribbean Our Lady of Hope. He made his first vows in 2006. Having a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, he is now finishing his Masters of Divinity at Dominican Fathers Theological Center in Puerto Rico. One of the main reasons he joined the Franciscans was because he said “it was different and you could do much more than just be a priest.” Being a Franciscan gives him hope and willingness to do more than he had ever thought he could. Br. Fandry’s main goal while in Boston is to improve his English. He hopes to give psychosocial support and services to the children and youth in the nonprofit organization “Niño de Nueva Esperanza, Inc.” which was founded by friars.
