As summer came to close and all of the interns had to go back to school there were a couple of us who are continuing our internship through the fall.  Overall my summer experience at St. Anthony Shrine gave me a lot of experience with walks of every lifestyle.  It’s very comforting to go back to work for a place where their mission is to help everyone and anyone in need.  I ended my summer with St. Anthony Shrine learning a lot about social media and public relations.  Working for a nonprofit you have to take advantage of all aspects of social media and try to get your name out there as much as possible.  Personally doing PR didn’t seem like work for because I was simply spreading the good works and deeds of all the great people St. Anthony Shrine has brought together.

Starting in the fall again it was nice to get back into the swing of things.  I was greeted by Br. Daniel and Fr. Ronald as soon as I walked into the office.  Br. Daniel showed me all of the new mass cards that he was working on and cracked a joke about how excited he was to have me back in the office with him and couldn’t wait for me to bug him.  It was good and felt like nothing had changed during the time that I left.

I’m very excited for all of the events the Shrine has coming up.  This Saturday is our annual volunteer appreciation dinner.  It’s a wonderful event where we get to truly appreciate all of our volunteers for helping us throughout the year.  Next Sunday, October 2nd is our blessing of the animals at 2 pm in Downtown Crossing.  The next big event is our Gala.  We hope to raise enough money this year to keep funding all of our outreach programs.  The last big event this fall is #GivingTuesday.  #GivingTuesday is a day where you can donate online for 24 hours to organizations.  It’s a day of giving that happens after cyber Monday, this year November 29th 2016.
