This morning, May 22, 2019, we held a Lazarus Funeral here at the Shrine for a Mr. Rodolfo “Rudy” Rodriguez. Mr. Rudy was a kind and gentle man to everyone he came across.
The service was yet again a representation of what a truly beautiful ministry the Lazarus Ministry really is. Having 10 BC High students as pallbearers and the few rows of 8th graders from St. Mary or Annunciation in Melrose, made for an unforgettable funeral for those in attendance. Mr. Rudy will be buried in our Lazarus plot at New Calvery Cemetery along with baby Angela, who has been in the care of Dolan Funeral Home since her funeral in January.
The presiders at the funeral were Fr. Richard Flaherty, OFM, of the Shrine and Fr. Jim Croghan, SJ, of BC High.
