The Franciscan Food Center Today

SAS-FoodCenter2Today, there are about 1800 Members at the Food Center, which represents more than 4000 people. We serve about 400-450 Members each week.

Members come to us from many backgrounds and cultures all around Boston and speak many languages including Chinese, Creole, English, French and Spanish.

The Food Center is staffed by more than 150 Volunteers, many of whom are bi-lingual. Our Volunteers handle all aspects of the Food Center’s operations, including the delivery and distribution of about 5,000 to 10,000 lbs. of food each week.

We are grateful to the generous donations and/or partnerships with individuals who are affiliated with or attend St. Anthony Shrine, the Greater Boston Food Bank, The Mayor’s Office and the CEO Council on Hunger, BJs, Deluxe Systems, Inc., Controlled Environmental Structures, New England Transport Refrigeration, LaVallees Bakery, MulitGrain Bakery, AGAR Supply, Sysco, Fleet Fruit, US Foods, Arrow Paper, Kayem Foods and the Boston Police Department.
